Wyruz was formed in early 2002 by guitarists Vegar Larsen and Kim Nybakken. Embret Johnsen joined immediately on drums and we started rehearsal on Death/Metallica/Slayer covers. Since we had no bassplayer Per-Kristian Skogli was asked to join. Shortly after we played our first gig at "Hamar Open Park Rock" 2002, and as a tribute to Chuck Schuldiner we only played songs by Death. The awesome feedback from the gig and the fun we had playing together made us evolve and we started to make our own music in 2003. Due to army duty Embret had to quit Wyruz and we recruited a new drummer, Odd Arve Nicholaisen, who boosted the band with inspiration which resulted in the demo "Sleep when your dead". The demo gave us a spot at the festival "Bylarm04" in Bergen, where we shared the stage with bands such as Enslaved, Audrey Horne and Black Debbath.

06.06.06 Wyruz released a new demo called "Your Angel". The response from the audience and fellow musicians was great but we still could not get any labels to sign us. Wyruz continued with a concert streak and played gigs with bands like The Entombed, Stonegard, Showdown and Manifest, and also played "Hamar Music festival 2007", and played at the "Furustock festival" twice. In the spring of 2008 Odd Arve quit the band and since there were no drummers to be found who could fill inn the blank, the band went on hiatus...

Early 2009 Kenneth Skårholen from Tidfall/Criterion joined the ranks. Once again Wyruz were complete and a new era began. Kenneth suited us perfectly and we started writing new material and people wanted us to hit the concert scene again. 2009 wyruz played some more gigs, like at the "Under the bridge festival", and we also headlined the festival "Rocktober" in our hometown Hamar.

Wyruz are now in the middle of recording their first album, to be released in june 2011, and are ready to start a new chapter with more awesome gigs and the continuing pursuit of a golden record deal...
